My favourite fictional spy.

There's many spies portrayed on television and in movies, so how do you pick a favourite?

For me, it's easy. As much as I love James Bond and Mission Impossible; two of my favourite fictional characters are spies.

First of all, John Steed from The Avengers. The TV show and not the comic series (as that's what you get if you Google the show.)

Steed is the quintessential English Gentleman. He's quirky and even in a crisis, usually has a witty one liner. And he has the most stylish apartment in history. I'd love to live in that apartment.

And I also love Harry Palmer from the Ipcress File (and other films that followed). In the book of the Ipcress File, Harry isn't named. We aren't even sure that Harry is even his real identity.

What I love about Harry is that he's just a regular guy, who is a spy. Apparently he was created to be the anti James Bond, and it's easy to see why.

James Bond gets to go on glamorous adventures and Harry goes to flats for surveillance. It's more realistic and while James Bond is escapism, I find Harry's adventures more realistic, and I've seen the film's A LOT of times.
