So talk of another lockdown.

With the rise of the Omicron varient of Covid, there's been talk of another lockdown.

I'm not an anti-vaxxer or a covid denier (had all 3 jabs and done everything I can not to catch it) but I'm wondering if this is going to be the norm forever now.

Covid isn't going to go anywhere (despite what some people on twitter say about wiping it out) and there are going to be other varients and winter time is going to be a tough time for the NHS and hospital admissions (flu season) and I just can't help but think every single autumn/winter is going to be like this.

We have vaccines. We have had 3 other lockdowns and yet, here we are, back to the starting point again.

I think family Christmas and huge new year's parties are going to be a thing of the past.

I think every single December now is going to be filled with dread and fear about the restrictions that are going to be forced upon us.

I hope I am wrong, and this "prediction" is just the mental health bad day I'm having talking, but What if it's not?
Can we really live like that? Would we want to? Isn't it time the government and the scientists came up with other options instead of stopping the world at intervals that suits them.
