"Endeavour".
I love the TV show "Endeavour". I think that it's one of the best UK drama's ever made.
If you don't know the show, it's the story of a young Endeavour Morse (played suberbly by Shaun Evans, who I had never heard of before I watched this show) and how he becomes the infamous Inspector Morse.
It's got a lot of nods to the "original" story (Strange and Max Debryn feature) but it's a stand-alone show, too, as it features original characters and stories.
I think every member of the cast are really talented, bringing their characters to life by portraying them as three dimensional people.
My favourite character (apart from Morse, of course) is Max Debryn. I love his sarcastic wit. He's also a man of integrity and, even though he acts aloof, he cares about the victims.
The storylines are complex and smart and gripping. The two hours fly by.
It's set in the 1960's/ 1970's, and I love retro things (I love the 1950's and 1960's especially) so that helps me love the show, too.
I know that the next series (series 8) is rumoured to be the last, and it was delayed due to the pandemic, but I am hoping it will continue, and get a proper finale. Even though we know what happens to some of the characters, we don't know what happens to others (Thursday, for example) and I want those characters to get a proper ending.
